CURRENT COVID-19 SAFETY GUIDELINES (Last updated 03/10/2021)
As we continue to monitor the evolving COVID-19 situation in tandem with adhering to diocesan regulations, the Parish of Saint Clare of Assisi is currently implementing the following protocols:
SUNDAY OBLIGATION: The dispensation from participating at Sunday Mass in person is no longer in effect. (You can read more from the Diocese about this here.)This means, in obedience to the Ten Commandments and our moral obligation to God as well as our deep need to experience the joy of a worshiping parish family, that ALL CATHOLICS must return to Mass every weekend and Holy Day of Obligation. The following are excepted from the obligation:
We will continue to live-stream Saturday 5:00 p.m. Mass on YouTube, for those who need to participate from home.
MASS PROTOCOLS: Weekend Masses will all be held in the Bishop England Performing Arts Center (PAC)
VACCINES: If you have any questions about which vaccines were or were not ethically produced, and how that affects our choices as Catholics, Father West has provided this useful information for your aid.

- Those who are ill or your health condition would be significantly compromised if they were to contract a communicable illness (i.e., have underlying conditions or are in a high-risk category).
- Those who exhibit flu-like symptoms.
- Those who have good reason to think they might be asymptomatic of a contagious illness (e.g., were in recent contact with someone who tested positive for a contagious illness such as COVID or influenza).
- Those who care for the sick, home bound, or infirmed.
- Those who are pregnant, or caring for small children.
- Those 65 years of age or older (per the CDC’s recommendation of high-risk individuals).
- Those who cannot attend Mass through no fault of their own (while wanting to go, are prevented for some reason they cannot control — e.g., a ride did not show up, the church was at capacity).
- If they have significant fear or anxiety of becoming ill by being at Mass.

MASS PROTOCOLS: Weekend Masses will all be held in the Bishop England Performing Arts Center (PAC)
- Capacity restrictions are lifted so there is no need for reservations. Every row is available to sit in.
- Communion under the species of the Sacred Host only remains the norm.
