S.O.S. — Serve On Saturday
One Saturday a Month. One Parish. One Mission.
What is S.O.S.?
Serve On Saturday (S.O.S.) is a monthly service initiative inviting all Saint Clare of Assisi parishioners—of every age and stage—to step into mission together. On one Saturday each month, we roll up our sleeves and meet real needs in our Charleston community and beyond.
Whether it’s packing meals, visiting neighbors in need, cleaning up a public space, or writing letters to the homebound, S.O.S. provides tangible ways to be the hands and feet of Christ in the world. No matter your experience level or availability, there is a role for you.
Who Can Serve?
- Families with kids of all ages
- Teens seeking service hours
- Young adults and singles
- Empty nesters and retirees
- New and longtime parishioners alike
All are welcome—no prior experience required. Each S.O.S. Saturday begins with prayer and orientation before we head out to our mission projects.

Valentines for Vets
Friday, February 7 • 10:00–11:00 a.m.
Parish Office
Join us as we create Valentine’s Day cards for deployed service members and veterans in VA hospitals through the national Valentines for Veterans campaign with Soldiers’ Angels.
We will be writing cards, assembling mailings, and preparing messages of gratitude and encouragement for those who have served our country. Monetary donations are also needed to help cover postage costs.
