About Us
Saint Clare of Assisi Catholic Church is a Roman Catholic parish of the statewide Diocese of Charleston. Established on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014, the parish serves Daniel Island and the Cainhoy peninsula, though our members come from across the greater Charleston area.
Under the leadership of our founding pastor, Rev. Canon Gregory B. West, Saint Clare of Assisi has grown into a vibrant Catholic community devoted to reverent liturgy, joyful discipleship, and faithful service. Whether you are new to the area, returning to the Church, or simply exploring, we welcome you with open arms.
Our Patroness, Saint Clare
We draw spiritual inspiration from Saint Clare of Assisi (1194–1253), whose courage, humility, and deep love for the Eucharist continue to shape our parish identity. Like Saint Clare, we seek to live with simplicity and devotion, serving Christ through hospitality, formation, prayer, and community.
“Love God, Serve God, Everything is in that.”
– Saint Clare of Assisi
