PASTORAL COUNCIL
If the diocesan bishop judges it opportune after he has heard the presbyteral council, a pastoral council is to be established in each parish, over which the pastor presides and in which the Christian faithful, together with those who share in pastoral care by virtue of their office in the parish, assist in fostering pastoral activity. A pastoral council possesses a consultative vote only and is governed by the norms established by the diocesan bishop. – Canon 536 of the Code of Canon Law of the Catholic Church
The Pastoral Council is, in essence, the Pastor’s cabinet. Our Pastoral Council leads the way in creating a pastoral plan for the growth and development of our identity, ministries, liturgy, education and service, all based on input from the membership of the parish.
The Pastoral Council is comprised of six members appointed by the pastor and serve a three-year term with the possible reappointment to a second three-year term.
Council meetings are open to parishioners. Meeting dates and times are published on the online calendar.
The Pastoral Council will reconvene in early 2024.
