Below are answers to frequently asked questions.
ALTAR FLOWERS. Our parishioners sponsor the altar flowers in memory or honor of a loved one or in celebration of an event. Please contact the Rosemary for more information and the calendar of available dates.
ANOINTING OF THE SICK. Contact Father West directly by email or by phone 843.471.2672. More information can be found here.
ATTENDING MASS. Weekend Masses are celebrated Saturdays at 5:00 p.m., Sundays at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. We celebrate weekday Masses at 8:00 a.m. Mondays through Thursdays and at 6:00 p.m on Wednesdays. Mass is also celebrated the first Friday of every month at 8:00 a.m.
BAPTISM FOR MY CHILD. Please take a look at the Baptism page on our website for information including necessary forms to request baptism, for baptism preparation classes and godparent certification, as well as contact information should you have questions.
BECOMING A LITURGICAL MINISTER (Usher, Greeter, Lector, Server, Eucharistic Minister, Choir). Contact Madelaine Beckford, our Director of Music and Liturgy.
BECOMING CATHOLIC. Contact Grace Strother, our Director of Adult Formation.
CONFESSIONS. Monday and Thursday mornings from 8:30 - 9:00 a.m. and Tuesday evenings from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the church. Confessions may also be scheduled by contacting Father West.
CONFIRMATION FOR MY CHILD. Take a look at our Confirmation Information page and contact Fernando Cartagena, our Director of Youth Formation with any questions.
CONFIRMATION SPONSOR. Sponsor forms for those who are being confirmed at Saint Clare of Assisi can be found here. The form must be signed and sealed by a pastor.
DONATING HOUSEHOLD ITEMS. The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul considers donations of household goods and furniture. They do not accept clothing donations. Contact 843.416.7126 for more information.
EMERGENCIES. In the event of a death or sacramental emergency, call 843.471.2121 and follow the prompt for emergencies.
ENROLLING IN A LOCAL CATHOLIC SCHOOL. Saint Clare of Assisi verifies parishioner status for students attending Christ Our King-Stella Maris School and Bishop England High School in order that they may be granted the parishioner tuition rate. FIRST COMMUNION FOR MY CHILD. Take a look at our First Communion Preparation page of our website. Contact T.J. Cofield, our Director of Child Formation if you have any questions.
FUNERAL PLANNING. Information about funerals and a link to our parish’s Funeral Planning Guide can be found here.
GODPARENTS. Requirements can be found here. The Godparent Certification Form for individuals serving as Godparents to a child being baptized at Saint Clare of Assisi can be found here.
HAVING MASS OFFERED FOR MY INTENTION. We do not schedule Masses to be said. The priest offers everyone’s intentions at every Mass. Since we do not reserve Masses, there is no fee. If you would like to make an optional donation, the donation will go to our building fund. Mass cards are available in the parish office. Please contact the Parish Office if you are interested.
HAVING SOMETHING BLESSED (religious items, vehicles, homes, etc.) Items can be dropped at the Parish Office at 225 Seven Farms Drive, Suite 100 or please see a priest or deacon around Mass times at the church. All other requests can be arranged by contacting Father West.

MAKING A DONATION. Thank you for your desire to support our parish and our mission! We offer several ways to donate. You may donate by check made payable to Saint Clare of Assisi, via Venmo (@SaintClareOfAssisi), via a payment form or with our online giving provider. RECEIVING THE ONLINE BULLETIN. Visit our website to sign-up for the parish bulletin sent every Thursday as well as other parish communications.
REQUESTING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR RENT, UTILITIES, ETC. The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul provides assistance to low-income families within our parish territory (Daniel Island, Cainhoy, Wando) upon review. Leave a message at 843.737.2766.
VISITING THE CHURCH. The church is open for prayerful visits weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and weekends from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
VOLUNTEERING. “Every member is a minister” at Saint Clare of Assisi. More information on our ministries can be found here. If you see something of interest, please contact the team’s captain who will happily answer your questions and get you involved. If you would like to discuss starting a ministry, perhaps something you did in a previous parish, contact Father West at [email protected]. We also offer monthly service opportunities on Saturday mornings (S.O.S.) - more information about these events is communicated through our weekly bulletin.
