What Is Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP)?
Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP) is a parish renewal process that has existed since 1969 and has been recommended by the renewal office of the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops. It has been the primary instrument of personal and parish renewal in over 600 parishes in 25 states and in Italy. It is centered on a parish renewal weekend and stresses a clear focus on the Gospel. It furthers personal conversion and community, ministry, and prayer, healing and holiness, spiritual growth and gospel service. CRHP emphasizes continued growth in Christian life during our daily contacts with others and offers an excellent opportunity to meet other parishioners. It is an opportunity to say “yes” to a closer and deeper relationship with God.
What Happens On The Weekend?
The weekend enables you to hear and learn about God through the lives of other parishioners. It provides an atmosphere for individual spiritual growth through prayer and personal reflection. You can share conversations and thoughts (as much or as little as you desire) with others in the parish who also encounter many of the same demands of everyday life in family, society, and at work. Sacraments are part of the weekend. On Saturday evening, Reconciliation is offered with Father West or visiting priests from a neighboring parish.
How Does The Process Work?
The renewal weekend is given for PARISHIONERS by PARISHIONERS. The weekend can be made as a renewal experience with no further commitments. However, many participants choose to form a new team and present the next time the weekends are offered.
When And Where Are The Weekends Held?
The sessions will take place in classrooms at Bishop England High School and in our new church. The food is great, the fellowship is even better, and the faith experiences are the best! The weekends begins at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday morning and concludes at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. There will be one men’s weekend and one women’s weekend held each spring and fall. The entire weekend is informal. Comfortable, casual attire is preferred.
Who Attends?
CRHP is for parishioners, 21 and older, who are seeking spiritual renewal, desiring to grow closer to God, or searching for a deeper sense of purpose within the parish community. Praying for guidance is important. If you feel that Christ, through the Holy Spirit, may be calling you - please come!
