FOLLY BEACH SURF RETREAT
COST: $30 for those who will be taking a surf lesson. Free for anyone who is only coming for a fun beach day.
SCHEDULE
9:00am Mass @ Our Lady of Good Counsel, Folly Beach
9:45am Gather on the beach at 12th Street East, Folly Beach
10:00am BEACH OPENING: Prayer - Logistics / General Instruction
10:30am Group 1: Surf instruction
Group 2: Beach fun
12:30pm Lunch Break -- Bring your own lunch.
12:45pm Faith Talk
1:15pm Free Time: Surfing, beach games, spiritual sand castle contest, etc.
3:00pm CLOSING PRAYER
WAIVERS
Surfing is inherently dangerous. All those participating in the surf lessons must sign the Sacramental Surf Retreat Liability Waiver prior to the day of the retreat. All participants who have not filled out the required waiver will not be allowed to surf.
CHAPERONES
Catholic Surfing Ministries assumes that the appropriate number of qualified chaperones will be supplied by the contracting youth group, per local Diocesan safe child environment guidelines. Catholic Surfing Ministries instructors are Safe Haven certified, but should not be counted towards the child to chaperone ratio.
